Capitol Hill faces multi-front battles: impeachment, AI guardrails, and vaccine debates

Capitol Hill was abuzz with a flurry of high-stakes actions: Democrats pressed ahead with impeachment moves in the House while lawmakers wrestled with a slate of other issues, including Chris Klomp’s confirmation hearing over vaccine policy and Kennedy-era claims, GOP fights over AI safety and antitrust waivers, and ongoing debates about privacy and surveillance tools. Bernie Sanders called for stronger AI guardrails as technologists warn of risks, and other floor activity covered crypto regulation, birth-tourism policy, and a push to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The day underscored deep partisan divides across health, technology, and national security policy.
