Cherelle Parker Secures Democratic Nomination for Philadelphia Mayor

Cherelle Parker, a former member of the City Council, won the Democratic mayoral primary in Philadelphia, becoming the first woman to lead the city if she wins the general election in November. Parker campaigned on hiring more police and drew support from prominent Democratic politicians and trade unions. She will face Republican opponent David Oh in the general election.
