Chicago chosen as host city for 2024 DNC Convention

Chicago has been chosen to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention, scheduled to be held from August 19-22. The city was selected above other contenders such as Atlanta and New York, and was chosen because it represents a "wide range of midwestern Democrats who represent the diversity of the party." The Midwest is key to a victory in 2024, and there is no city better positioned to reach those voters than Chicago, said Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois. The last Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago was in 1996, when President Bill Clinton was nominated for his second term.
