Colorado Democrats brace for left-wing challenge to veteran incumbent
TL;DR
Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette, a long‑time Democrat, faces a serious left‑wing challenge from Melat Kiros in a pivotal primary. Kiros is backed by DSA, Track AIPAC, and progressives including Bernie Sanders, while DeGette is supported by the Congressional Progressive Caucus and abortion-rights groups. Heavy outside spending by both sides has intensified the race, with implications for whether recent anti‑establishment victories signal a broader shift against veteran incumbents in the party.
