"Congressman's Wife Receives Anonymous Messages Urging Support for Jim Jordan as Speaker"
TL;DR
The wife of Republican Congressman Don Bacon received anonymous text messages warning her husband to back Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan for House Speaker. Bacon was one of the holdouts on Jordan from the GOP side, and his wife received messages threatening her husband's political career if he didn't support Jordan. Multiple Republicans faced pressure to support Jordan, but he endured a disastrous loss in his first bid for Speaker. The House remains without a Speaker, causing legislative priorities to be put on hold.
