TL;DR
Republicans in California are making another attempt to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom, accusing him of prioritizing his presidential ambitions over the state's needs. Newsom, who has not announced any intention to run for president, denounced the effort as a distraction from important issues. Supporters need nearly 1.4 million signatures to put the recall on the ballot, while fellow Democrats have rallied behind Newsom, who previously survived a GOP-led recall in 2021.
