DeSantis and Trump-backed candidates clash in Kentucky gubernatorial race.
TL;DR
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suffered two losses on election night, with his endorsed candidate for Kentucky governor losing in a landslide to a Trump-backed rival, and a Republican he had endorsed conceding to a Democratic opponent in the mayor's race in Jacksonville. DeSantis's preparations for a 2024 presidential campaign are intensifying, but his last-minute endorsements have not been successful. As he nears the announcement of his campaign, his stump speech has often called on the Republican Party to end its "culture of losing" during the Trump era.
