DeSantis' Iowa Rally Controversy and Presidential Endorsement

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a subtle dig at former President Donald Trump after he canceled his rally in Iowa due to bad weather. DeSantis made an unscheduled stop at a barbecue joint near where Trump was scheduled to speak and spoke at two other events in Iowa. DeSantis has had to carefully calibrate how he attacks Trump, and how he responds to Trump's attacks, as he is widely seen as the former president's biggest rival. DeSantis has been holding a "soft campaign" under the guise of promoting his book, but has not yet announced whether he will run for president.
