DeSantis Outperforms Trump in Florida GOP Polls

A new poll shows that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has a 59% approval rating among registered voters, and would beat former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head primary matchup in the state. DeSantis' popularity is significantly higher than both Trump and President Biden in Florida. The governor's favorable recognition among GOP voters is 87%, compared to 71% for Trump. In a direct head-to-head matchup, DeSantis leads Trump 44%-39% among registered Republican voters. DeSantis is widely expected to announce his candidacy for president once the Florida legislature wraps up its current session this spring.
