DeSantis' Presidential Prospects Questioned by Wall Street and Critics Alike

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has rebranded his state political committee, Friends of Ron DeSantis, severing his connection to the tens of millions of dollars it controls, in preparation for his expected presidential campaign. The committee's website now says it is associated with state Senator Blaise Ingoglia, a Republican ally of DeSantis. DeSantis cannot use the money raised for his state political committee in a federal race, but it could be shifted to a super PAC that backs him. DeSantis has been hosting dinners with financial supporters, fine-tuning his stump speech, and trying to differentiate himself from former President Donald Trump without alienating his loyal base.
