Federal prosecutors in Washington have warned that up to 1,200 more people could face charges in relation to the January 6 Capitol attack, nearly doubling the number of criminal cases. Over a thousand people have already faced charges for their alleged involvement in the riot, which was incited by former President Donald Trump. A former top editor of an Orthodox Jewish newspaper in New York was also arrested on charges of interfering with officers trying to protect the Capitol. Criminal investigations into Trump's attempts to undermine the 2020 election continue.
