DOJ seeks 25-year sentence for Oath Keepers founder in Jan. 6 insurrection case.

Federal prosecutors are seeking a 25-year prison sentence for Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Rhodes was found guilty of seditious conspiracy in November. Prosecutors are also seeking prison sentences of between 10 and 21 years for eight of his co-defendants. Prosecutors argue that Rhodes should receive a terrorism sentencing enhancement for trying to stop the peaceful transfer of presidential power and keep Donald Trump in office.
