"Ethics Complaint and Opposition Research Threaten DeSantis' White House Hopes"

A Trump super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., has filed a 15-page ethics complaint against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, accusing him of violating state ethics and election laws with his "shadow presidential campaign." The complaint alleges that DeSantis has taken steps to orchestrate a coming presidential bid, including making stops in early primary states, writing a book, raising tens of millions of dollars, and watching a constellation of supporter-led super PACs and an outside nonprofit group pop up. Trump's team bases its complaint, in part, on Florida's resign-to-run law, which requires politicians running for a new office to resign if the terms of the two offices will overlap.
