FBI Officials Clarify Role in Jan. 6, Deny Incitement Claims
TL;DR
Sen. Amy Klobuchar criticized President Trump for claiming the FBI planted agents in the crowd during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, calling it 'appalling' and emphasizing that agents were brought in to help, not to incite. She noted that investigations found no evidence of FBI agents acting as agitators, and clarified that agents were called in after delays in military assistance, with some acknowledging that the move went against FBI standards.
