Fetterman shoots down GOP defection rumors, vowing to stay a Democrat

Sen. John Fetterman publicly reiterated that he will not switch parties, brushing off repeated questions about defecting to the Republicans. The speculation has flared amid his staunch Israel defense and a recent appearance at a Republican midterm event, though he insisted he remains a Democrat and urged patience for the upcoming elections. His approval among Democrats has fallen sharply in polls, while his 2028 reelection prospects remain uncertain, and he declined to comment on recent staff-related reports, calling them “smears.”
