Florida Governor Signs "Permitless Carry" Gun Law.

Florida's new permitless carry law allows people to carry concealed guns in public without a permit or training, and goes into effect on July 1. The law does not allow for open carry and only those who meet existing criteria requirements for a concealed carry permit can carry a gun in public. The legislation also expands the school guardian program to private schools and requires the Office of Safe Schools to create a standard behavioral threat assessment process. Critics fear that people who exploit private-seller loopholes to avoid a background check could end up carrying a concealed gun in public with no vetting.
