Florida Supreme Court to Decide Fate of Recreational Marijuana Ballot Initiative

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is expected to argue before the state Supreme Court, claiming that a referendum allowing adults to use marijuana does not meet legal requirements to appear on the ballot in 2024. The initiative, titled Adult Personal Use of Marijuana, surpassed the required signature count for a Supreme Court review in February. The Supreme Court will look into the wording of the referendum and how it would appear on the ballot to make sure it’s not misleading. A recent poll found that 70% of Floridians support legalizing marijuana for adult recreational use.
