Garland pledges US support for Ukraine's war crimes probes against Russia.

US Attorney General Merrick Garland met with Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin to discuss their joint work to hold the Russian regime accountable for its atrocities against the Ukrainian people. They exchanged updates on their work with the Ukraine Joint Investigative Team and discussed the Department's continuing work to hold the Russian regime accountable for its atrocities. The Justice Department is also planning to send a Resident Legal Advisor to the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv this summer to work with Ukrainian partners on a variety of complex justice sector issues.
