GOP's Jan. 6 stance questioned amidst jail visits and mistreatment claims.
TL;DR
Lawmakers, including Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene and Democrat Jasmine Crockett, toured the D.C. jail where Jan. 6 defendants are held. While Greene claimed the detainees reported mistreatment, Crockett said their conditions were better than others. House Republicans have opened an investigation into whether the defendants have been mistreated, while Democrats have attended the tour to ensure a fair representation of what happened. The investigation comes as Republicans have split over the issue, with many wanting to move on, while a louder group pushes to relitigate it.
