"Government Officials Push for UFO Disclosure in Landmark Legislation"

Senators Chuck Schumer and Mike Rounds are leading a bipartisan effort to pass a measure that would require the U.S. government to release records related to UFO sightings, officially known as "unidentified anomalous phenomena" or UAPs. The proposal, modeled after a 1992 law on the handling of records related to President Kennedy's assassination, would establish a presumption of immediate disclosure and a review board for classified documents. The records would need to be publicly disclosed within 25 years, unless the president certifies a direct harm to national security. The measure also grants the government "eminent domain" over recovered technologies and biological evidence related to non-human intelligence.
