Kansas Implements Transgender Athlete Ban in Women's and Girls' Sports.

Kansas has become the latest state to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports from kindergarten through college. The law, which takes effect on July 1, is among several hundred proposals that Republican lawmakers across the US have pursued this year to push back on LGBTQ rights. The Kansas law is the first of several possible new laws restricting the rights of transgender people pushed through by Republican legislators over the wishes of the Democratic governor.
