LGBTQ and Immigrant Advocacy Groups Issue Travel Warning for Florida

Civil rights groups Equality Florida and Florida Immigrant Coalition have issued travel advisories warning against travel to Florida due to a slate of "hateful laws" that target vulnerable communities, including LGBTQ people, immigrants, and women seeking reproductive healthcare. The advisories come after at least 10 bills targeting LGBTQ rights were introduced in Florida this year, and the state barred healthcare providers from administering gender-affirming care to minors. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's administration has also taken steps to broaden a controversial state education law prohibiting classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity.
