Mark Meadows' Attempt to Transfer Georgia Election Case to Federal Court Fails

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows' attempt to move his case involving efforts to reverse the 2020 U.S. election results from Georgia state court to federal court has been denied by U.S. District Judge Steve Jones. This ruling suggests that similar bids by former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants to change the venue of their criminal case will also fail. Meadows, along with Trump and 18 others, was charged with conspiring to undo Trump's election loss to President Joe Biden. Trump's lawyer has indicated that he may also seek to move his trial to federal court.
