House Speaker Kevin McCarthy advised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to negotiate with Disney instead of building a prison next to Disney World. DeSantis has been in a feud with Disney since last year when the company spoke out against the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” law. Disney has sued DeSantis and other state officials, alleging a “targeted campaign of government retaliation” for “protected speech” that threatens its business operations. McCarthy also suggested that businesses should not get involved in politics and should focus on running their businesses.
