McCarthy blocks Tlaib's anti-Israel event at Capitol.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib hosted an event at the Capitol criticizing the founding of Israel as a "catastrophe" despite House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's move to block it. The event was organized by nine anti-Israel groups and was moved to the Senate side of the Capitol complex after McCarthy intervened to reserve the space in the Capitol Visitor Center. The event was titled "Nakba 75 & the Palestinian People" and was held in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Hearing Room. Tlaib confirmed that Sen. Bernie Sanders allowed her to use his committee's room. Tlaib and Rep. Cori Bush were the only lawmakers present.
