McCarthy Takes Aim at GOP Critics and Gaetz in Fiery Interview

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy criticized the Republicans who voted for his removal and predicted that GOP Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina would lose reelection next year. McCarthy accused Rep. Matt Gaetz of leading the charge out of retaliation for an ethics complaint he is facing and suggested there should be consequences for his actions. McCarthy referred to his GOP detractors as "disruptors" and expressed surprise that Mace and Rep. Tim Burchett joined Gaetz in the effort to oust him. Mace responded by touting her independent voice and dismissing McCarthy's implication that she needs his money to win reelection.
