House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has called for calmness and no protests or violence in response to former President Donald Trump's call for protests over a potential arrest in connection with a Manhattan District Attorney investigation. McCarthy suggested that Trump was calling for others to "educate people about what's going on." McCarthy has also condemned the investigation and promised investigations into whether any federal funds were used in connection with the probe. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has also said that "we don't need to protest" the potential arrest.
