"McConnell and Trump Camp in Talks for Potential Endorsement Deal"
TL;DR
Key advisers to Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell have been engaged in secretive back channel talks to secure McConnell's endorsement of Trump for the 2024 presidential nomination. The endorsement would hold enormous symbolic value for Trump, signaling acceptance from the last Republican congressional leader who has yet to offer support. The conversations between the two camps have been ongoing, with efforts to create a more productive working relationship, and Trump expressing his expectation of McConnell's endorsement by late January.
