McConnell's Invitation Rejected: Sinema Stands Firm on Not Joining GOP.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would have welcomed Sen. Kyrsten Sinema to the Senate Republican conference, but the decision was made when she continued to caucus with the Democrats. Sinema, who left the Democratic Party to become an independent, still informally caucuses with her old colleagues, giving Democrats a 51-49 majority in the Senate. Despite her warm relationships with many Republican senators, Sinema said she has no interest in becoming a Republican.
