Oklahoma County Commissioner Resigns Over Violent and Racist Comments.

An Oklahoma county commissioner, Mark Jennings, has resigned after leaked audio recordings revealed him making death threats against two local journalists and discussing lynching Black people. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the matter at the request of the governor. The recordings were made on March 6 when a voice-activated recorder was left inside the room after a county commissioners meeting. The FBI has also launched an investigation into McCurtain County regarding the released recordings. More than 100 people gathered outside the McCurtain County Courthouse in Idabel on Monday, with many of them calling for the sheriff and other county officials to resign.
