Pence's Involvement in Trump Investigation Revealed in Unsealed Court Docs.

A newly unsealed court document shows that U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg required former Vice President Mike Pence to answer almost all of special counsel Jack Smith's questions regarding his conversations with figures who pressured him to reject Joe Biden's electoral votes on Jan. 6. Boasberg ruled that conversations exhorting Pence to reject electors on Jan. 6 were not protected and that Pence lacked the authority to reject certified electoral votes. Pence argued that he should be afforded the same immunity from DOJ questioning that members of Congress receive, but Boasberg ruled that the "speech or debate" clause has strict limits and doesn't protect efforts by outside actors to coax legislators to act "unlawfully."
