Protesters Arrested in Opposition to DeSantis' Anti-Diversity Bills

Protesters from the human rights group Dream Defenders occupied Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ office in opposition to a series of bills passed by the Florida legislature that will defund diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, restrict professors from discussing issues of race and ethnicity, and prohibit schools from compelling teachers and staff from using a student’s preferred gender pronouns. The bills are expected to be signed into law by DeSantis. The protesters were later arrested and forcibly removed from the premises.
