Public Opinion Shifts: Concerns Over US Spending on Ukraine Aid Rise

Opposition to US funding for Ukraine's military operations against Russia has decreased in the past month, including among self-identified Republicans, according to a recent poll. The survey found that 45% of Americans believe the government is spending too much on aid to Ukraine, compared to 52% in October. Additionally, 59% of Republicans are now opposed to Ukraine aid, down from 69% in the previous month. The poll comes after House Republicans elected Mike Johnson (R-La.) as the new Speaker, following disagreements over government funding and aid to Ukraine.
