Ramaswamy Contemplates US UN Membership Reevaluation and NATO Scale-Back: Report

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has expressed openness to "reevaluating" the United States' membership in the United Nations and potentially scaling back its involvement in NATO, calling it a "reasonable idea." While not committing to these actions if elected, Ramaswamy's remarks come in response to claims that former President Donald Trump considered withdrawing from NATO during his first term and may do so if reelected. Ramaswamy has clashed with fellow GOP candidate Nikki Haley, who has a more traditional approach to foreign policy. The two, along with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, will participate in the upcoming GOP debate. Ramaswamy has also urged Congress to vote against President Biden's proposed aid package to Israel and Ukraine, calling for clear objectives and plans in Gaza.
