Sinema Deposition Reveals Prolonged Affair With Married Bodyguard Amid Alienation Suit

Former Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema testified in a July deposition about a months-long affair with her former bodyguard, Matthew Ammel, with encounters in Napa, New York, D.C., Aspen and Phoenix. Ammel’s ex-wife, Heather Ammel, has sued Sinema under North Carolina’s alienation of affection law, seeking more than $75,000 in damages, claiming Sinema willfully seduced her husband; Sinema argues the affair did not occur in NC and challenges the basis of the lawsuit. An evidentiary hearing is set for Aug. 19.
