Supreme Court to Hear South Carolina Racial Gerrymandering Case.

The Supreme Court has agreed to review a lower court's decision that invalidated a congressional district in South Carolina as an illegal racial gerrymander. The state argued that race did not predominate in its decision-making process, but the NAACP's lawyers argued that the lower court found race to be the predominant factor in the General Assembly's drawing of the district.
