Supreme Court to Rule on Access to Abortion Pill Mifepristone.

The Supreme Court is deciding whether to keep lower court decisions on hold while legal battles continue over the safety of mifepristone, a medication used in more than half of abortion procedures. The Biden administration has asked the court to uphold the FDA's finding that the drug is safe and can be used through 10 weeks of pregnancy. Antiabortion activists have won lower court battles challenging the FDA's approval of mifepristone and its decisions since 2016 that the drug is so safe that past restrictions can be relaxed. The court's decision will mark its first major decision on abortion since its conservative majority overturned Roe v. Wade last June.
