Texas Governor Abbott Calls Special Session to Address Property Taxes and Border Security

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called for a special session to address property taxes and border security, following the end of the 88th Texas Legislature’s regular session. Abbott said that several special sessions will be required to address all priorities, with a maximum of 30 days per session. The first session will focus on cutting property taxes and cracking down on illegal human smuggling. Abbott said that legislation needs to be passed to lower property taxes and enhance penalties for certain criminal conduct involving the smuggling of persons or the operation of a stash house.
