Texas Legislature Passes Multiple Bills Restricting Transgender Rights.

The Texas Legislature has approved a bill banning gender-affirming care for minors, making Texas the largest state to do so. The bill has been sent to Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who has previously ordered investigations into such treatment. At least 17 other states have enacted similar bans. The bill was passed despite objections from Democrats and opposition from major medical organizations. Republican lawmakers in Texas have given priority status to measures limiting the rights of transgender people this year.
