Texas Supreme Court Denies Paxton's Bid to Dismiss Whistleblower Suit

The Texas Supreme Court has rejected Attorney General Ken Paxton's request to dismiss a whistleblower lawsuit filed by four former top deputies. The lawsuit accuses Paxton of wrongful termination and retaliation after they reported him to the FBI for allegedly abusing his office to help a friend and donor. The case had been on hold pending a possible settlement, but the whistleblowers asked the court to reinstate it after Paxton was acquitted in his impeachment trial. The lawsuit will now return to a trial court in Travis County.
