The Battle Over Student Loan Relief: Biden's Promise and GOP Opposition

The US government has confirmed that federal student loan repayments will resume later this year, leaving millions of Americans in debt. President Joe Biden promised to forgive up to $20,000 of student loans for millions of borrowers, but Republicans are waging a multipronged attack on student loan forgiveness, including legal challenges and legislation that would block forgiveness. If Biden's loan forgiveness plan falls through, a lot of young people may not forgive him, which may well be reflected in turnout at the 2024 election. Democrats and Labour need to stop taking young people's votes for granted and start earning them.
