The Future of Student Loan Forgiveness Under Biden's Administration

The Biden administration is reportedly exploring ways to implement its $400 billion student loan forgiveness plan even if the Supreme Court strikes it down. The Job Creators Network, which brought one of the lawsuits against the plan, has vowed to sue any workarounds the administration tries to implement. The Supreme Court is expected to hand down its decision soon on whether Biden violated the Constitution by using executive authority to authorize student loan forgiveness. The debt ceiling deal signed by Biden earlier this month makes it law that student loan repayment will resume at the end of August, after three-and-a-half-years of deferment.
