The GOP's Losing Streak Continues

The GOP has been facing political trouble since the 2018 House elections, followed by Trump's loss in 2020, losing control of the U.S. Senate, and blowing chances to control the Senate and House. Republicans have also lost a series of political battles over abortion rights, despite winning the legal fight over it. Hard-right candidates who appeal to the GOP base threaten to inject uncertainty into at least five winnable races in the 2024 map. Trump's agenda is dominated by vengeance and victimhood, diverting Republicans from the inflation- and crime-centered messages that helped them in the midterms.
