Trump Secures Texas in 2024 Presidential Race
TL;DR
Donald Trump secured Texas' 40 electoral votes in the presidential election, continuing the state's Republican streak since 1976. Governor Greg Abbott praised Trump's victory, emphasizing his policies on inflation, border security, and crime. Despite Democratic efforts to shift Texas blue by engaging younger, diverse voters and moderates, the state remained firmly Republican. Trump's margin of victory in Texas has narrowed over recent elections, but Republicans dismiss Democratic gains as insufficient.
