Trump Urges GOP Senate Leader Hopefuls to Back Recess Appointments
TL;DR
Senate GOP leader candidates are aligning with President-elect Trump's demand to use recess appointments to expedite the confirmation of his cabinet nominees. This move highlights Trump's aggressive approach to governance and the contenders' eagerness to be seen as his allies. Senators John Thune, Rick Scott, and John Cornyn have expressed support for this strategy, with Scott receiving an endorsement from Elon Musk. Despite Trump's private dismissal of Scott's leadership bid, MAGA media is pushing for his candidacy, challenging the establishment frontrunners.
