Trump urges Senate to stay in session to pass SAVE America Act and end filibuster

Trump pressed Senate Majority Leader John Thune to keep the chamber in session to pass the Save America Act and terminate the filibuster, but GOP support is limited and some Republicans oppose adjourning. With only about eight legislative days left before the August recess, the Senate must also tackle a government funding stopgap, Russia sanctions, and nominations, and the election bill appears unlikely to pass this session.
