Trump's Lawyers Meet with DOJ Officials Ahead of Grand Jury Meeting.

Attorneys for Donald Trump met with officials at the Justice Department ahead of the grand jury investigating the former president's handling of classified documents, which is expected to meet again this week. The meeting did not include Attorney General Merrick Garland or Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco. Trump's legal team included James Trusty, John Rowley, and Lindsey Halligan. The FBI found over 11,000 government documents, including over 100 unique documents with classification markings, during a search of Trump's estate at Mar-a-Lago in August 2022. Trump posted on his Truth Social platform shortly after his lawyers left the Justice Department, questioning how he could be charged when no other presidents were charged and when Joe Biden won't be charged for anything.
