Twenty States Urge Supreme Court to Freeze Missouri’s Congressional Map

Twenty Republican-led state attorneys general filed an amicus brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to temporarily block a Missouri Supreme Court ruling that would use the 2022 congressional map in November while a new map is considered. They warn that changing maps so close to an election could confuse voters and officials, invoking the Purcell principle. Florida and Texas lead the brief, joined by 18 other states with GOP AGs, arguing the stay would prevent disruption to the November election.
