"New Jersey Grapples with Influx of Migrants Destined for NYC Amid Varied Local Responses"
TL;DR
Dozens of migrants sent by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to New York City were diverted to New Jersey train stations to bypass NYC arrival restrictions. Instead of continuing to NYC, these migrants were picked up by family members already in New Jersey, according to Gov. Phil Murphy. This situation has prompted communication between Gov. Murphy and NYC Mayor Eric Adams to address the unexpected change in the migrants' destination.
