Nationwide Student Walkouts in Solidarity with Palestinians Shake NYC and Surrounding Areas

College students from various New York City universities, including CUNY, Columbia University, and NYU, walked out of their classes in support of Palestinians amid escalating tensions over the Israel-Hamas war. The walkouts, organized by National Students for Justice in Palestine and other groups, were a response to the worsening violence in Gaza. Counter-protesters waving Israeli flags were present at some demonstrations. The protests remained peaceful, with no reported arrests. Pro-Israeli demonstrations were also expected to take place.
